The Mental Health & Resilience Workshops are designed to empower individuals, families, and communities to strengthen coping skills, foster emotional well-being, and build resilience in the face of life’s challenges.
At Live Humility, we approach mental health with compassion, inclusivity, and evidence-based practices—integrating CBT, Reality Therapy, Game Theory, Cultural Humility, and the Resiliency Model. These workshops are designed with accessibility and relevance for the general public, LGBTQ2+ communities, and immigrants, recognizing the unique challenges and strengths within each group.
Foundations of Resilience: Building Strength Through Challenge (General Public, Immigrants, LGBTQ2+): This workshop introduces the Resiliency Model, helping participants understand how resilience is built through adapting to challenges rather than avoiding them. Through reflection and practical strategies, participants learn how to reframe difficulties, identify strengths, and use setbacks as opportunities for growth. Exercises highlight how resilience manifests differently across individuals and communities, ensuring participants walk away with strategies to strengthen their own well-being.
Emotional Regulation & Stress Management (General Public, Immigrants): Focusing on CBT-based tools and mindfulness strategies, this session teaches participants how to recognize stress triggers, reframe unhelpful thoughts, and practice grounding techniques. Attendees gain hands-on skills for managing anxiety, work-related stress, or cultural transition pressures. This workshop is highly practical, with exercises participants can implement immediately in daily life to maintain balance and stability.
Reality & Choices for Everyday Challenges (General Public): Rooted in Reality Therapy and Choice Theory, this session equips participants to approach problems by focusing on what can be controlled, making responsible choices, and clarifying goals. Attendees learn to examine the gap between where they are and where they want to be, fostering accountability and motivation. Practical scenarios make this workshop especially helpful for adults seeking stronger decision-making frameworks in personal and professional life.
Resilience & Identity Empowerment (LGBTQ2+): This workshop provides a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ2+ participants to explore resilience through identity empowerment. Discussions focus on navigating stigma, building self-acceptance, and fostering community connections as protective factors. Drawing on CBT and resilience frameworks, the workshop equips participants with strategies for affirming their identities while managing stress and discrimination.
Building Safe & Affirming Spaces (LGBTQ2+, General Public — Families & Allies): Designed for both LGBTQ2+ individuals and their allies, this workshop highlights the principles of cultural humility in creating inclusive environments. Participants learn how to foster acceptance in schools, workplaces, and families. With a mix of education and role-play, the session equips allies with language and behaviors that promote belonging while empowering LGBTQ2+ participants to advocate for themselves and others.
Cultural Humility in LGBTQ2+ Mental Health (LGBTQ2+, Service Providers): This session explores how cultural humility informs mental health practices with LGBTQ2+ populations. Participants—especially educators, service providers, and therapists—learn how to avoid assumptions, recognize intersecting identities, and engage in respectful dialogue. Through case studies and interactive discussion, this workshop builds skills for creating affirming services rooted in inclusivity and collaboration.
Mental Health in Transition: Navigating Change & Adaptation (Immigrants): Tailored for newcomers, this workshop explores the unique stressors associated with relocation and cultural adaptation. Using resilience frameworks and CBT tools, participants learn to balance maintaining cultural identity while integrating into new communities. The workshop emphasizes practical coping strategies for managing isolation, role changes, and navigating unfamiliar systems.
Family Resilience in Immigrant Communities (Immigrants — Families & Parents): This session focuses on helping immigrant families support children and teens in adapting to new environments. Participants explore how cultural transitions impact family dynamics, education, and social belonging. Parents learn practical strategies for fostering resilience in children, managing intergenerational differences, and creating supportive home environments that honor both heritage and adaptation.
Game Theory & Resilience in Community Building (Immigrants, General Public): By applying Game Theory principles, this workshop explores how communities can collaborate to overcome isolation and resource challenges. Participants learn to identify win-win strategies for shared goals, fostering mutual support and cooperation. The workshop includes interactive scenarios where participants practice collaborative problem-solving to strengthen social ties and resilience within their networks.
